The Luminarium transports guests into the art itself by weaving imagery from 150 state-of-the-art projectors onto a tapestry of surfaces seamlessly and magically bringing the beauty and wonder of masterpieces to larger-than-life like never before.
The full experience (approximately 75-80 minutes in duration) is carefully curated and choreographed to an evocative musical score, layered with suggestive aromas that ignites one’s imagination and stirs one’s soul.
The Luminarium can even involve integrated, themed food and beverage offerings into the broader experience to engage even more senses and amplify the visitor experience even further.
Establishing this permanent immersive gallery in your city is more achievable than you may think. With the right local support, resourcing and desire, Grande will tailor The Luminarium design into the venue of choice. We also manage the entire planning and production process right through to when the doors open for the first visitors.
With our extensive international experience, we are able to offer not just an iconic experience, but the entire business platform that will underpin its success.
Your city will inherit a contemporary, next generation, fully immersive digital art gallery that will form an essential part of your city’s cultural and tourism offerings in the fast-growing experience economy.
The Luminarium presents a single, 45-minute “Feature Show” for up to twelve months, complemented by shorter “Featurettes” totalling 15-20 minutes that can be rotated on a more frequent basis. The featurettes are collaborations with local and international digital artists, often artists whose work is inspired by the main feature artist.
Each Feature Show is created in-house by Grande Exhibitions’ talented creative and production teams. Each requires thousands of man-hours to artfully curate, digitize, animate and translate into a perfectly synchronized symphony of image, sound and fragrance needed to elevate and surprise each guest with child-like wonder and awe.
There is also a reflective area where one can read interpretive information for a more detailed, traditional understanding of the subject matter. The entire tableau is approximately 75-80 minutes in duration. Based on our experience, many guests will choose to stay and enjoy it for a second (and few – for a third) time from various vantage points and perspectives. Guests are only asked to leave at the end of the operating day.
For more than a decade, Grande Exhibitions has focused solely on refreshing the way exhibitions of art, science and culture are enjoyed by visitors around the world, by pioneering and introducing advanced technology, multi-sensory and multi-media immersion, interactivity and clever storytelling to engage audiences more deeply.
Grande Exhibitions have been at the forefront of the movement from exhibitions to experiences and are once again in the midst of redefining experiences to meet the ever-changing demands and greater expectations of new audiences.
